Wonder what you would find if you frisked the Associated Press yesterday?

Answer: An interesting headline!

Hmm… The AP makes this headline seem so awful. Perhaps the new immigration bill will be a slight success?

The question here is: What will be the next border state to pass a new law similar to Arizona’s? After all, I’m sure  those illegal immigrants “running away” from Arizona are just fleeing into other neighboring states.

Wonder what you would find if you frisked Arizona Governor Jan Brewer’s job approval after signing an immigration law that has sparked a national debate?

Answer: Her popularity increased… A lot!

Who would have every thought? Apparently President Obama, Al Sharpton, and the liberal mainstream media cannot stop this movement as much as they decide to rant on about it. Unfortunately for them, 70% of Arizona voters agree with new immigration legislation. Therefore, Gov. Brewer’s poll numbers have soared dramatically.

Rasmussen Report has the latest:

Last week, Arizona Governor Jan Brewer signed an immigration law that launched a national debate. It has also at least temporarily helped her own chances of remaining Arizona’s governor.

A new Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of likely voters in the state shows that 56% now approve of the way Brewer is performing her role as governor. Two weeks ago, just 40% offered their approval.

The new figure includes 22% who Strongly Approve of the governor’s performance. That’s up from five percent (5%) before Brewer signed the law that authorizes local police to stop and verify the immigration status of anyone they suspect of being an illegal immigrant.

The bounce in the polls is also evident in new numbers on the November election. If Brewer is the Republican nominee, she would get 48% of the vote while her likely Democratic opponent, State Attorney General Terry Goddard, would attract 40%. Two weeks ago, it was Brewer 44% and Goddard 40%. Goddard is an outspoken opponent of the new law.

Continue to pout and demonize the opposition Democrats and liberal mainstream media.  It doesn’t matter how many times you try to compare this immigration law to “Nazi Germany”, because the argument simply doesn’t hold any water. Hey… Couldn’t you make the same argument about Obama-Care and its federal mandate? The Obama Administration and IRS will eventually force every single American to provide proof that they have health insurance. What’s the difference? Well besides the fact that no where in the Constitution does it say we HAVE to purchase a product/service to be an American citizen, but it’s the job of the federal government to protect our borders. Let’s just ignore all that… Right liberals?

Wonder what you would find if you frisked today’s date one year ago?

Answer: United States Senator Arlen Specter (PA) made a career-altering decision… He joined the Democratic Party.

The Morning Call takes us back to when Sen. Specter betrayed his former Republican Party:

Not long after President Barack Obama — whom Specter campaigned against in 2008 — was sworn in to office, Specter made a career-altering decision to ignore the will of the Republican leadership and vote with the Democrats on a massive spending bill meant to restimulate a crippled economy. His Republican vote, he was one of just three, is credited with boosting the $800 billion measure into law.

…And soon after, he switched.

Sorry Sen. Specter, we do not miss you! If fact, you probably made it easier for us (Conservatives) to remove your turncoat-self from political office!

Pat Toomey (R) – running against Sen. Specter – is having a money-bomb today! Make sure you toss a couple greenbacks in his tip bucket:

Wonder what you would find if you frisked the latest Rasmussen Report poll regarding the Michigan GOP Primary for governor?

Answer: U.S. Representative Pete Hoekstra continues to lead the group of Republican gubernatorial hopefuls in Michigan.

Rasmussen reports:

Source: Rasmussen Report.

The latest Rasmussen Reports survey in the state shows nearly one-out-of-three primary voters (32%) still undecided.

Businessman Rick Snyder has 14% support this month, down four points from a month ago, while state Attorney General Mike Cox again earns 13% of the vote. Oakland County Sheriff Mike Bouchard edges up to nine percent (9%). Five percent (5%) of primary voters prefer some other candidate.

Thirty-six percent (36%) of GOP conservatives in the state favor Hoekstra, while 38% of self-designated liberals in the party prefer Snyder. Moderates have no clear favorite.

The GOP may benefit from the fact that a Democrat is currently Governor of the state at a time when just 6% rate the economy as good or excellent. According to a recent Associated Press report, Michigan has had the highest unemployment rate in the country for the past four years, with a 14.1 percent rate in March. Most Michigan voters also want to repeal the recently-passed national health care plan.

According to the latest Rasmussen Report survey (above) of 481 likely Republican Primary voters, it is clear that U.S. Rep. Hoekstra is currently the GOP favorite, but will his momentum carry into the month of August? It will be interesting to see since the U.S. Congress has an approval rating of 23% and – thanks to Democrats – many Americans seem skeptical about national politicians.

After finally making an appearance in the poll numbers in March – thanks to his ‘One Tough Nerd‘ Super Bowl advertisement – Businessman Rick Snyder‘s numbers appear to be falling back toward the rest of the Republican candidates (Mike Bouchard and Mike Cox).

Mike Bouchard – who Frisk A Liberal.com endorses – just released his first state-wide television advertisement last Thursday (April 22, 2010), so it will be interesting to see how it will affect his numbers in next month’s poll. Will it give him a boost of political momentum similar to Rick Snyder’s? I guess only time will tell. In the meantime, you can donate to his campaign by clicking here.

Overall, at the end of the day it will not be about the poll numbers… It will be about which candidate can grab the enthusiasm of Michiganders to get them out and vote in the August 3rd Primary?

As for Republicans versus Democrats though? Republicans still maintain a slight edge over Democrats according to the latest Rasmussen Report:

Source: Rasmussen Report.

A new Rasmussen Reports telephone survey in Michigan finds an unnamed generic Republican candidate for governor picking up 41% of the vote, while an unnamed generic Democratic candidate earns 36% support. Five percent (5%) prefer some other candidate in the race, while 18% of likely voters in the state remain undecided.

[...]

Male voters favor the Republican candidate by 13 points, while the candidates break even among female voters.

Voters not affiliated with either of the major parties prefer the Republican by a 36% to 16% margin, but over one-third (35%) of these voters are still undecided.

Although the Republican Party still maintains the lead in Michigan, we cannot start slacking now. 2010 is the year to turn Michigan back into a red-state!

Wonder what you would find if you frisked Eugene Robinson’s – from The Washington Post – latest op-ed column?

Answer: He wonders why the Tea Party activists aren’t protesting Arizona’s new immigration law.

Really Mr. Robinson???… You’re throwing out the race-card? Figures…

Activists for Latino and immigrant rights — and supporters of sane governance — held weekend rallies denouncing the new law and vowing to do everything they can to overturn it. But where was the Tea Party crowd? Isn’t the whole premise of the Tea Party movement that overreaching government poses a grave threat to individual freedom? It seems to me that a law allowing individuals to be detained and interrogated on a whim — and requiring legal residents to carry identification documents, as in a police state — would send the Tea Partyers into apoplexy. Or is there some kind of exception if the people whose freedoms are being taken away happen to have brown skin and might speak Spanish?

Personally, I think Mr. Eugene Robinson should have stayed home today and kept his phalanges off his (assuming) ritzy Apple MacBook, because it would have saved him the humiliation of writing this op-ed column.

First of all, this Arizona immigration law does not allow law enforcement officers to detain and interrogate people solely “on a whim.” I give Eugene Robinson major props here for his excellent exaggerations. Click here to read the bill.

Second, the Tea Party movement is about limiting government to its responsibilities. In this case, the government is not overreaching here, because the federal government is SUPPOSE to protect our borders and enforce immigration laws. Unfortunately, both Republicans and Democrats have not grown a spine on this issue and continue to fail at maintaining the integrity of our borders and preserving the concept of U.S. citizenship. Therefore Arizona has been forced to man-up and take care of its citizens.

Lastly, there’s nothing wrong with legal American citizens wanting their borders protected so that state unemployment rates decrease, health-care costs decrease, and their property values increase. Yup… That must be racist. <– That’s sarcasm if you couldn’t tell.

In the end, Eugene Robinson proves once again that it is difficult for those on the far-left to understand what is and is not a proper role of our government.

Wonder what you would find if you frisked Southfield attorney Geoffrey Fieger (D)?

Answer: He might run for governor of Michigan.

The Detroit News reports:

Lightning rod Southfield attorney Geoffrey Fieger would become the instant frontrunner for the Democratic gubernatorial nomination should he jump into the race, political experts say, but they predict he will opt not to run.

Fieger said on Detroit talk radio Monday morning he will decide this week whether to run for governor. He did not return calls seeking comment.

Fieger is recognized from his many forays into the media spotlight, from defending assisted suicide advocate Jack Kevorkian to his run for governor against incumbent Republican Gov. John Engler to his law firm’s television commercials.

[...]

Bill Ballenger, editor of the Inside Michigan Politics newsletter, said Fieger “lost badly” (62 percent to 38 percent) against Engler and “he became a punch line in political circles” partly because of his outrageous comments.

Fieger would join a crowded field for governor with Lansing Mayor Virg Bernero, House Speaker Andy Dillon of Redford Township and state Rep. Alma Wheeler Smith of Salem Township in the race on the Democratic side.

But he raised doubt about his potential candidacy when he said this is likely to be a Republican year in Michigan.

Also working against Fieger could be difficulty collecting 15,000 valid signatures on a nominating petition by the May 11 deadline, DeWitt said.

[...]

“Last time he spent $5 million to $6 million of his own money.”

Odds look slim to none. Not only would Fieger have to collect the 15,000 signatures needed within two week, he would also have to campaign in an election year that is not favorable to Democrats. Part of him has to be thinking, “Man… I had to use $6 million of my own money back when liberal policies were somewhat popular. What would the damage be this time around?”

Hey! At least HBO is bringing the whole Dr. Kavorkian mess back up again, but I am sure they will probably portray the lunatic in a ‘heroic’ light. After all, HBO still allows the un-comedic Bill Maher to have a show.

Wonder what you would find if you frisked President Obama’s socialized health-care reform bill a month after it was signed into law?

Answer: Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius hid a damning report from the American public until a month after Democrats rammed Obama-Care through Congress!

Ah yes! Another example of the increased transparency within the federal government that we have all come to know and love under the Obama Administration… Be prepared, because what you are about to read will shock the living hell out of you.

Jim Hoft – from Gateway Pundit – describes what was found in the hidden report:

The report released by Medicare and Medicaid actuaries shows that medical costs will skyrocket rising $389 billion 10 years. 14 million will lose their employer-based coverage. Millions of Americans will be left without insurance. And, millions more may be dumped into the already overwhelmed Medicaid system. 4 million American families will be hit with tax penalties under this new law.

Of course, these were ALL things that President Obama and Democratic leaders assured us would not happen.

Also, The American Spectator reports:

The economic report released last week by Health and Human Services, which indicated that President Barack Obama’s health care “reform” law would actually increase the cost of health care and impose higher costs on consumers, had been submitted to the office of HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius more than a week before the Congressional votes on the bill, according to career HHS sources, who added that Sebelius’s staff refused to review the document before the vote was taken.

“The reason we were given was that they did not want to influence the vote,” says an HHS source. “Which is actually the point of having a review like this, you would think.”

The analysis, performed by Medicare’s Office of the Actuary, which in the past has been identified as a “nonpolitical” office, set off alarm bells when submitted. “We know a copy was sent to the White House via their legislative affairs staff,” says the HHS staffer, “and there were a number of meetings here almost right after the analysis was submitted to the secretary’s office. Everyone went into lockdown, and people here were too scared to go public with the report.”

In the end, the report was released several weeks after the vote — the review by the secretary’s office reportedly took less than three days — and bore a note that the analysis was not the official position of the Obama administration.

Quite frankly, I am pissed off. Granted, I realize that any intelligent human knew that this monstrosity would do the exact opposite of what the Democrats were preaching to the American public, but the fact that they were handed actual knowledge on how destructive Obama-Care was going to be is absolutely appalling. Imagine if a Republican went out there and lied to the American people on this type of scale while attempting to hide reports… Liberals everywhere would be calling for their head.

Question: How much will this story be covered in the liberal mainstream media?
My guess: It will just be thrown on news tickers of MSNBC, NBC, CBS, and CNN. As for the New York Times and the other liberal newspapers, the story will be about a paragraph in length and located in section ‘D’… If they can even afford to print a section ‘D’ these days.

Wonder what you would find if you frisked President Obama’s $787+ billion stimulus package?

Answer: Economists think the government’s stimulus package hasn’t helped out the economy.

Yay! President Obama and his loyal Democrats tripled the national deficit within a single year thanks to his unpopular economic stimulus package. Unfortunately for our country, this is what we have to show for it…

CNN Money reports:

The recovery is picking up steam as employers boost payrolls, but economists think the government’s stimulus package and jobs bill had little to do with the rebound, according to a survey released Monday.

In latest quarterly survey by the National Association for Business Economics, the index that measures employment showed job growth for the first time in two years — but a majority of respondents felt the fiscal stimulus had no impact.

NABE conducted the study by polling 68 of its members who work in economic roles at private-sector firms. About 73% of those surveyed said employment at their company is neither higher nor lower as a result of the $787 billion Recovery Act, which the White House’s Council of Economic Advisers says is on track to create or save 3.5 million jobs by the end of the year.

That sentiment is shared for the recently passed $17.7 billion jobs bill that calls for tax breaks for businesses that hire and additional infrastructure spending. More than two-thirds of those polled believe the measure won’t affect payrolls, while 30% expect it to boost hiring “moderately.”

Peace out tax dollars!

Wonder what you would find if you frisked Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Alexi Giannoulias?

Answer: Government regulators seized Giannoulias’ family-owned Broadway Bank.

The Chicago Tribune reports:

Broadway Bank, the family-owned lender that helped launch U.S. Senate candidate Alexi Giannoulias’ political career, was seized by government regulators Friday night, one of seven Illinois institutions taken over and sold to healthier companies.

The failure of Chicago-based Broadway, which was unable to raise the $85 million it needed to remain independent, was anticipated, and its worsening health has weighed on Giannoulias’ Democratic bid for President Barack Obama’s old Senate seat. The bank had been struggling in recent years with real estate loans gone bad, losing $75 million last year.

Giannoulias worked for his father at Broadway before entering politics, and during his successful run for state treasurer in 2006 he used his banking experience as one of his chief qualifications. But in the Senate race, he has tried to distance himself from the bank’s troubles.

The Tribune reported this month that the $1.15 billion-asset bank, founded in 1979, lent a pair of Chicago crime figures about $20 million during a 14-month period when Giannoulias was a senior loan officer.

[...]

The Giannoulias family took out nearly $70 million in dividends from the bank in 2007 and 2008. Demetris Giannoulias, Alexi’s brother and Broadway’s chief executive, has said most of the money was used to pay corporate taxes and for estate planning after the 2006 death of family’s patriarch, Alexis Giannoulias.

Hmm… Is it simply just a coincidence that Giannoulias’ family pulled $70 million out of Broadway just before the financial collapse? Either way, Alexi Giannoulias will have his hands full attempting to play the ‘victim’ here while he and his family receives millions in government bailouts. Oh yeah, and don’t forget about the little ‘lending $20 million to organized crime figures’ mishap either.

Is it safe to say “Goodbye Barack Obama’s old U.S. Senate seat” yet?

Wonder what you would find if you frisked the Associated Press after they actually took a look at President Obama’s socialized health-care bill?

Answer: They finally admitted that Obama-Care will increase the nation’s health-care costs.

Talk about showing up late to a party…

The Associated Press FINALLY reports:

President Barack Obama’s health care overhaul law will increase the nation’s health care tab instead of bringing costs down, government economic forecasters concluded Thursday in a sobering assessment of the sweeping legislation.

A report by economic experts at the Health and Human Services Department said the health care remake will achieve Obama’s aim of expanding health insurance — adding 34 million Americans to the coverage rolls.

But the analysis also found that the law falls short of the president’s twin goal of controlling runaway costs, raising projected spending by about 1 percent over 10 years. That increase could get bigger, however, since the report also warned that Medicare cuts in the law may be unrealistic and unsustainable, forcing lawmakers to roll them back.

The mixed verdict for Obama’s signature issue is the first comprehensive look by neutral experts.

Objective journalism at its best folks! We are finally starting to get the truth… Of course it’s only after the bill was signed into law.
