The graphic above does not accurately represent the OWS movement. It contains lies. I support the truth even more than I support OWS. The creator of this graphic is not being truthful. I have some corrections. “Replace the constitution” is not true. “Tax the evil rich fat cats into oblivion” should read, “Let the Bush tax cuts expire”. “Arrested for violent behavior” should read “arrested for peacefully protesting”. “Who’s Obama? It’ Bush’s fault! Racist!” should read,”thirty years of Reagonics has failed us”. “We need to keep spending MORE money we don’t have” should read “we should spend more wisely”. “We deserve other people’s money” is not an OWS platform, it is an accusation of OWS and the left in general. “Get money out of politics” is accurate. “We should be bailed out too” is not an OWS platform. “Break the system” should read “the system is broken”(in agreement with the tea party). The jab at unions with the asterisk* is an opinion. The unions are not special interest groups and they have lost the battle for the middle class over the past twenty years. I’m just saying.

I think you are only looking at one side of this story. The reason I say that is because there are many videos of very educated individuals, I will agree that many of the people are definitely liberal leaning but they are still American citizens. Their rights are being trampled by people who simply do not want too hear about it.

The facts are that republicans and democrats have very little difference when it comes to your constitutional rights. We as a people are protected by the constitution and the bill of rights. These are the basic undeniable rights given through the declaration of independence. How can we as fellow citizens stand by and watch our personal rights be beaten out of them by the police officers whose sworn duty is to protect us and protect the constitutional rights we have.

I would suggest you take a drive downtown and check out an encounter of the occupy protesters and the police. These people are being hauled to jail some by force for breaking a curfew? Does that sound logical at all? I have visited many times to the occupy camp in my town, it is eye opening to see the clampdown of fellow citizens by local authorities.

Here is my tale of visiting occupy in my area. I heard they were downtown in a park but did not pay much attention until the first night the police showed up and peppersprayed 5 people while hauling 10 people to jail. The charge was breaking curfew, which is a ticketable offense but not a jail-able offense, they then will charge the people with obstructing an officer and then with resisting arrest.
To me that does not sound logical that you go to jail over a non jail-able offense, so I went down the next night and met some of the people first thing as i walked up they offered me food and drink, and we visited, I asked why they were down there I got many different answers but most simply revolved around the the devaluing of the dollar by the federal reserve, the merger of corporations and governments, that buy politicians votes for bills on the floor through campaign financing, lobbying, or just plain payoffs. And the fact that corporations have actual protected by law human rights just like you and I do

Every night that I go up there at the curfew time cops storm the park, I mean like 75-90 cops on biggest night all carrying paintball guns with maceballs, the presence of force was strong and the people as a group move off but there are some as individuals want to act in civil disobedience, which the group supports. Over 50 people have went to jail now.

They stand for my rights as well as theirs, for your rights as well as theirs. They stand there as American citizens tired of getting screwed, tired of going to the gas pump and always needing more money for the same gas, tired of seeing there money not go as far at the grocery store. They are mad because this is all intentional and both republicans and democrats are to blame as this is not an overnight problem, the artificial bubble building up and bursting is a long term problem.
These things are everyones problem yours, mine, and theirs.

While I completely agree with all of your sentiments, I am now having to use the bridge card myself. I am a full time nursing student who had to drop my hours at U of M hospital where I work. But don't fret, because I am not addicted to crack, have a bastard child, or dropped out of high school-I am only getting $16 a month when my income is less than $800 a month...

One problem-these folks are already going to the Emergency Room. That is the only place where no one will ask for money or an insurance card prior to delivering care. As to the bill they get later-I remember hearing about the relationship of blood and turnips. If just 10% can figure where they can go outside of the hospital, it will shorten the lines. There are lots of schools opening up Physician Assistance programs and there will be lots of clinics willing to have PA's with physician oversight see these folks who previously had only the ER as their safety net.
