Liberal Media Buried Rev. Wright Story During Election

Wonder what you would find if you frisked the liberal mainstream media during the 2008 presidential election?

Answer: They tried to kill stories about Obama’s ties to Rev. Jeremiah Wright.

…And this isn’t right-wing paranoia either. There is documents to prove it! Jonathan Strong – from The Daily Caller – reports:

It was the moment of greatest peril for then-Sen. Barack Obama’s political career. In the heat of the presidential campaign, videos surfaced of Obama’s pastor, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, angrily denouncing whites, the U.S. government and America itself. Obama had once bragged of his closeness to Wright. Now the black nationalist preacher’s rhetoric was threatening to torpedo Obama’s campaign.

The crisis reached a howling pitch in mid-April, 2008, at an ABC News debate moderated by Charlie Gibson and George Stephanopoulos. Gibson asked Obama why it had taken him so long – nearly a year since Wright’s remarks became public – to dissociate himself from them. Stephanopoulos asked, “Do you think Reverend Wright loves America as much as you do?”

Watching this all at home were members of Journolist, a listserv comprised of several hundred liberal journalists, as well as like-minded professors and activists. The tough questioning from the ABC anchors left many of them outraged. “George [Stephanopoulos],” fumed Richard Kim of the Nation, is “being a disgusting little rat snake.”

Others went further. According to records obtained by The Daily Caller, at several points during the 2008 presidential campaign a group of liberal journalists took radical steps to protect their favored candidate. Employees of news organizations including Time, Politico, the Huffington Post, the Baltimore Sun, the Guardian, Salon and the New Republic participated in outpourings of anger over how Obama had been treated in the media, and in some cases plotted to fix the damage.

In one instance, Spencer Ackerman of the Washington Independent urged his colleagues to deflect attention from Obama’s relationship with Wright by changing the subject. Pick one of Obama’s conservative critics, Ackerman wrote, “Fred Barnes, Karl Rove, who cares — and call them racists.”

Michael Tomasky, a writer for the Guardian, also tried to rally his fellow members of Journolist: “Listen folks–in my opinion, we all have to do what we can to kill ABC and this idiocy in whatever venues we have. This isn’t about defending Obama. This is about how the [mainstream media] kills any chance of discourse that actually serves the people.”

Oh boy… Doesn’t that sound familiar? One again, we see how quickly and often the far-left media is willing pull out the ‘race-card’ in order to demonize the opposition. Quite pathetic if you ask me.

Felons Voting Illegally May Have Put Al Franken (D-MN) In The U.S. Senate

Wonder what you would find if you frisked the six-month election recount that put “Saturday Night Live” comedian Al Franken into office as a U.S. senator?

Answer: The election may have been decided by convicted felons who voted illegally.

Liberals using corrupt electioneering? Never…

FOX News reports:

The six-month election recount that turned former “Saturday Night Live” comedian Al Franken into a U.S. senator may have been decided by convicted felons who voted illegally in Minnesota’s Twin Cities.

That’s the finding of an 18-month study conducted by Minnesota Majority, a conservative watchdog group, which found that at least 341 convicted felons in largely Democratic Minneapolis-St. Paul voted illegally in the 2008 Senate race between Franken, a Democrat, and his Republican opponent, then-incumbent Sen. Norm Coleman.

The final recount vote in the race, determined six months after Election Day, showed Franken beat Coleman by 312 votes — fewer votes than the number of felons whose illegal ballots were counted, according to Minnesota Majority’s newly released study, which matched publicly available conviction lists with voting records.

Furthermore, the report charges that efforts to get state and federal authorities to act on its findings have been “stonewalled.”

“What we did this time is irrefutable,” said [Dan McGrath, Minnesota Majority's executive director]. ”We took the voting lists and matched them with conviction lists and then went back to the records and found the roster lists, where voters sign in before walking to the voting booth, and matched them by hand.

“The only way we can be wrong is if someone with the same first, middle and last names, same year of birth as the felon, and living in the same community, has voted. And that isn’t very likely.”

The report said that in Hennepin County, which in includes Minneapolis, 899 suspected felons had been matched on the county’s voting records, and the review showed 289 voters were conclusively matched to felon records. The report says only three people in the county have been charged with voter fraud so far.

Good job Liberals and Democrats! By using your typical, corrupt-style of politics, you managed to elect a man who draws cartoons and sleeps during Senate hearings. I must say, he’s a real winner.

At least we know that banners are now hanging in the Minnesota ACORN offices saying: ”Mission Accomplished”.

Dems Hid Negative Health-Care Report Until After Vote

Wonder what you would find if you frisked President Obama’s socialized health-care reform bill a month after it was signed into law?

Answer: Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius hid a damning report from the American public until a month after Democrats rammed Obama-Care through Congress!

Ah yes! Another example of the increased transparency within the federal government that we have all come to know and love under the Obama Administration… Be prepared, because what you are about to read will shock the living hell out of you.

Jim Hoft – from Gateway Pundit – describes what was found in the hidden report:

The report released by Medicare and Medicaid actuaries shows that medical costs will skyrocket rising $389 billion 10 years. 14 million will lose their employer-based coverage. Millions of Americans will be left without insurance. And, millions more may be dumped into the already overwhelmed Medicaid system. 4 million American families will be hit with tax penalties under this new law.

Of course, these were ALL things that President Obama and Democratic leaders assured us would not happen.

Also, The American Spectator reports:

The economic report released last week by Health and Human Services, which indicated that President Barack Obama’s health care “reform” law would actually increase the cost of health care and impose higher costs on consumers, had been submitted to the office of HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius more than a week before the Congressional votes on the bill, according to career HHS sources, who added that Sebelius’s staff refused to review the document before the vote was taken.

“The reason we were given was that they did not want to influence the vote,” says an HHS source. “Which is actually the point of having a review like this, you would think.”

The analysis, performed by Medicare’s Office of the Actuary, which in the past has been identified as a “nonpolitical” office, set off alarm bells when submitted. “We know a copy was sent to the White House via their legislative affairs staff,” says the HHS staffer, “and there were a number of meetings here almost right after the analysis was submitted to the secretary’s office. Everyone went into lockdown, and people here were too scared to go public with the report.”

In the end, the report was released several weeks after the vote — the review by the secretary’s office reportedly took less than three days — and bore a note that the analysis was not the official position of the Obama administration.

Quite frankly, I am pissed off. Granted, I realize that any intelligent human knew that this monstrosity would do the exact opposite of what the Democrats were preaching to the American public, but the fact that they were handed actual knowledge on how destructive Obama-Care was going to be is absolutely appalling. Imagine if a Republican went out there and lied to the American people on this type of scale while attempting to hide reports… Liberals everywhere would be calling for their head.

Question: How much will this story be covered in the liberal mainstream media?
My guess: It will just be thrown on news tickers of MSNBC, NBC, CBS, and CNN. As for the New York Times and the other liberal newspapers, the story will be about a paragraph in length and located in section ‘D’… If they can even afford to print a section ‘D’ these days.

Goodbye Giannoulias Bank And Obama’s U.S. Senate Seat

Wonder what you would find if you frisked Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Alexi Giannoulias?

Answer: Government regulators seized Giannoulias’ family-owned Broadway Bank.

The Chicago Tribune reports:

Broadway Bank, the family-owned lender that helped launch U.S. Senate candidate Alexi Giannoulias’ political career, was seized by government regulators Friday night, one of seven Illinois institutions taken over and sold to healthier companies.

The failure of Chicago-based Broadway, which was unable to raise the $85 million it needed to remain independent, was anticipated, and its worsening health has weighed on Giannoulias’ Democratic bid for President Barack Obama’s old Senate seat. The bank had been struggling in recent years with real estate loans gone bad, losing $75 million last year.

Giannoulias worked for his father at Broadway before entering politics, and during his successful run for state treasurer in 2006 he used his banking experience as one of his chief qualifications. But in the Senate race, he has tried to distance himself from the bank’s troubles.

The Tribune reported this month that the $1.15 billion-asset bank, founded in 1979, lent a pair of Chicago crime figures about $20 million during a 14-month period when Giannoulias was a senior loan officer.

The Giannoulias family took out nearly $70 million in dividends from the bank in 2007 and 2008. Demetris Giannoulias, Alexi’s brother and Broadway’s chief executive, has said most of the money was used to pay corporate taxes and for estate planning after the 2006 death of family’s patriarch, Alexis Giannoulias.

Hmm… Is it simply just a coincidence that Giannoulias’ family pulled $70 million out of Broadway just before the financial collapse? Either way, Alexi Giannoulias will have his hands full attempting to play the ‘victim’ here while he and his family receives millions in government bailouts. Oh yeah, and don’t forget about the little ‘lending $20 million to organized crime figures’ mishap either.

Was Rep. Bart Stupak’s Vote Bought With Airport Grants?

Wonder what you would find if you frisked Rep. Bart Supak’s decision to vote “yes” on President Obama’s socialized health-care bill?

Answer: His “yes” might have been another backroom deal to force Obama-Care down the American people’s throats.

Congratulations to the Democratic Party! Keep adding on the corruption and bribes, because that’s the politics America loves! The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) reports:

Three airports in the district of infamous fence-sitting and ultimately kowtowing Democrat Bart Stupak were awarded $726,409 in grants by the Obama Administration just two days before a vote on Obama and Pelosi’s government takeover of healthcare.

Alpena County Regional Airport received a $85,500 grant, but had only 7,519 passenger boardings in 2008 (the most recent year for which there is information) according to Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) data. Alpena County Regional Airport serves fewer passengers than even the late Rep. John Murtha’s famous “Airport for Nobody.”

Delta County Airport has even less customers than that, but still received a $179,209 grant.

Chippewa County International Airport received a $461,700 grant,  but had only13,733  passenger boardings in 2008.

Hmm… Will Rep. Stupak (D-MI) come clean about his obvious backroom deal for his vote? Personally, I highly doubt it.

Senior Congressional Staff Exempt From Obama-Care!

Wonder what you would find if you frisked President Obama’s socialized health-care bill that he plans on signing into law today?

Answer: The senior staff members who wrote the bill are exempted from Obama-Care!

Wow! This is absolutely unbelievable… The New Ledger reports:

One such surprise is found on page 158 of the legislation, which appears to create a carveout for senior staff members in the leadership offices and on congressional committees, essentially exempting those senior Democrat staffers who wrote the bill from being forced to purchase health care plans in the same way as other Americans.

Apparently, the Democrat’s socialized health-care is so great of a system that they don’t want to use it. Hmm? It’s interesting how this one works out. Some day I might understand these idiotic politicians, but I highly doubt it.

Let the adventure of finding atrocious details within Obama-Care begin! After all, it has to be signed into law before we can figure out what’s in this bill, right House Speaker Pelosi (D-CA)?

Answer: He’s swimming – Oops! I mean laying – in political scandal after political scandal.

Peter Beinart from the Daily Beast reports:

Charles Rangel would make the all-Madden team, too. The son of a maid, he went to work at age 8, won a Purple Heart in Korea, and rose through the Harlem Democratic machine. Since entering Congress, he has spoken blunt truths: declaring that if congressmen’s sons served in uniform, America would never have gone to war in Iraq. He has taken care of the little guy, assiduously bringing home federal bucks to his impoverished district. And in the Rostenkowski tradition, Rangel has taken care of himself as well, using rent-controlled apartments given to him by a Manhattan developer,and failing to pay income tax on a three-bedroom villa in the Dominican Republic (where he’s been pictured napping).

A Democratic source says party pollsters are picking up rumblings that the Rangel scandal is starting to register with the public. If Pelosi and the White House wait until the ethics committee hands down its final verdict, it may be too late.

Take your time getting rid of Rep. Rangel Democrats… It will make campaigning a whole lot easier for Republicans later on in the year.

In the meantime, I’m sure Rep. Rangel will go take a nap somewhere exotic and randomly forget to pay his taxes that he helps write. Genius!

Coakley Campaign Turns To ‘Electioneering’ In Order To Beat Scott Brown

Wonder what you would find if you frisked the state of Massachusetts and its polling stations?

Answer: Like a typical liberal, Martha Coakley’s campaign appears to be bending the rules.

According to the Election Journal and Commonwealth law:

At an election of state or city officers, and of town officers in towns where official ballots are used, the presiding election officer at each polling place shall, before the opening of the polls, post at least three cards of instruction, three cards containing abstracts of the laws imposing penalties upon voters, and at least three specimen ballots within the polling place outside the guard rail, and have available at the check in area at state elections a number of copies of the information for voters material provided for in section fifty-four at least one for every one hundred voters; and no other poster, card, handbill, placard, picture or circular intended to influence the action of the voter shall be posted, exhibited, circulated or distributed in the polling place, in the building where the polling place is located, on the walls thereof, on the premises on which the building stands, or within one hundred and fifty feet of the building entrance door to such polling place.

Hmm… The election laws in Massachusetts seems pretty straight forward, don’t you think? Then why are citizens who are trying to perform their civic duty forced to see all these garbage campaign posters within 150 feet of their local polling station?:

A woman in Lawrence, MA, is carrying around blank absentee ballots in Spanish today. She explains to the bloggers who took the video how she’s telling people to mark Martha Coakley’s name. The woman handing out the ballots identifies herself as “Isabel Melendez” and says she has a talk show in which she promoted Coakley’s candidacy.

Michelle Malkin reported: The deadline to apply for absentee ballots for the January 19, 2010 special election for US Senate was on Friday.

Am I done? Haha, of course not! Everyone knows – especially in the uber liberal state of Massachusetts – that Democrats have multiple election day tricks up their sleeves. Check out this distasteful one:

Behind in the polls to Republican Senate candidate Scott brown, supporters of pro-abortion candidate Martha Coakley have evidentially reached into their bag of dirty tricks. A Washington, D.C. based company is making calls to Massachusetts residents pretending to represent a prominent pro-life group.

The calls, from 202-461-3441, a Washington number registered to a company called SOOH, claim to be from Massachusetts Citizens for Life.

The caller claims the pro-life group is opposing Scott brown because of his stance against the health care bill, but as MCFL president Anne Fox told LifeNews.com late Monday, the opposite is true.

“Pro-lifers are receiving phone calls from people claiming to be Massachusetts Citizens for Life. The callers say that MCFL is not supporting Scott Brown because of his position on health care,” she said. “The truth is that Massachusetts Citizens for Life is supporting Brown because of his position on health care.”

The same number is also making calls to other state residents with various messages all attacking Brown.

All of this Democratic corruption is just more fuel to the fire if Scott Brown is able to pull off a victory tonight in Massachusetts! So everyone in the Bay State should go out there and vote for Scott Brown.

Side-Note: Isn’t it ironic that Martha Coakley is the Massachusetts’s Attorney General, yet she and her campaign continue to violate her state’s own laws? Just thought I’d throw that one out there.

When It Comes To Transparency, Can We Call Obama A Liar Yet?

Wonder what you would find if you frisked the head of C-SPAN?

Answer: He wants Congress to open up the health-care talks on television.

Props to the man in charge of C-SPAN – CEO Brian Lamb – for finally attempting to take some action:

The head of C-SPAN has implored Congress to open up the last leg of health care reform negotiations to the public, as top Democrats lay plans to hash out the final product among themselves.

C-SPAN CEO Brian Lamb wrote to leaders in the House and Senate Dec. 30 urging them to open “all important negotiations, including any conference committee meetings,” to televised coverage on his network.

“The C-SPAN networks will commit the necessary resources to covering all of the sessions LIVE and in their entirety,” he wrote.

Congressional leaders, however, reportedly are expected to bypass the traditional conference committee process, in which lawmakers from both parties and chambers meet to reconcile differences between the House and Senate versions of a bill. Instead, The Associated Press reports that top Democrats at the House, Senate and White House will figure out the final product in three-way talks before sending it back to both chambers for a final vote.

This format would seem ideal for closed-door meetings, which congressional Democrats have used many times to figure out sensitive provisions in the health care bill — though President Obama pledged during the campaign to open up health care talks to C-SPAN’s cameras.

Hmm… Will the Democrats comply with Brian Lamb’s request? Of course not! They much rather hide from the C-SPAN cameras and pass out hundreds of millions of dollars in favors/bribes to buy votes from fellow Democrats. This doesn’t sound like the type of transparency that the American people voted for when Barack Obama kept promising this:

Ugh… Are we allowed to say that he lied yet?

Side-Note: If there’s one thing that President Obama has reformed while in office, it would be the definition of ‘transparency’. Here’s the new definition:

Votes in the dead of night, committee processes that produce strawman bills, and Senators scurrying from camera lenses to dole out favors and cash to one another.

Sounds about right.

U.S. Senate Passes Reid’s Obama-Care

Wonder what you would find if you frisked the U.S. Senate this Christmas Eve morning?

Answer: Sen. Harry Reid’s (D-NV) version of Obama-Care passed.

This is how the Democrats say Merry Christmas to America:

The Senate passed a health insurance overhaul on Thursday morning, 60-39, as both Democrats and Republicans held unified in their positions on the massive bill that mandates coverage for about 9 percent of the U.S. population now without insurance.

All 58 Democrats and two independents supported the $871 billion, 10-year package that aims to cover about 30 million Americans. Thirty-nine of 40 Republicans rejected the bill. Kentucky Sen. Jim Bunning, who is retiring at the end of this Congress, did not vote.

Although this makes Christmas Eve pretty disappointing, Obama-Care still has a ways to go in order to become official:

Actually, it’s probably at least two steps away.  First, the House has to either consider adopting the Senate bill in toto or responding with another version of their own bill that passed a few weeks ago.  Even the White House doesn’t consider the first option realistic, which is why they’re resetting expectations about getting a unified bill out of Congress to February and doing the “hard pivot” to jobs and the economy instead.

This goes back to the House, and then likely back again to the Senate, and perhaps even a stop in a conference committee if Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid can’t avoid it.  Meanwhile, the appraisal by voters of this effort will continue to get worse and worse, and this will continue to be an albatross around the neck of Democrats in 2010.
