Wonder what you would find if you frisked President Obama’s speech yesterday?
Answer: Apparently, he is making up numbers now.
Hey America, do you remember when President Obama and his economically brain-dead administration promised this:
So much for unemployment topping out at 8% if we passed President Obama’s massive stimulus package…
Have no fear America! President Obama has a new strategy to describe how the stimulus package has been a success. Allahpundit – from Hot Air – explains:
Instead of talking about how much higher the unemployment rate is than he thought it’d be, we’re talking about how much higher it could have been without that $787 billion bomb. And the nice thing about that, of course, is that he can slap any horrifying figure he wants on his worst-case scenario to make the current figures look rosy. For the moment he’s restricting himself to “12 or 13 or 15 percent,” but if he’s staring at a giant Republican wave come October, I bet that estimate will bump up to 20 or 25 percent in no time. Keep moving those goalposts, champ.
Reminder: The price tag of the stimulus package has increased to $862+ billion, but who’s actually keeping count? What’s another TRILLION dollars added on to our deficits and national debt?
Personally, I’d tell the president to keep going with this new P.R. strategy of his, because we’ll see him in the 2010 and 2012 elections.
