Wonder what you would find if you frisked Lee Doren from How the World Works?

Answer: Bar stool economics!

Unfortunately, this little demonstration and common sense thinking is located at the center of the Democrats’ demonization tactic of class warfare. While the Democrats continue to go down that path, the bigger question is: Why do the politicians (mostly the Democrats) in Washington D.C. feel they are entitled to our hard earned money? That money could be invested in new projects and hire more employees.

The Democratic majority knew the expiration of the Bush tax cuts was lingering and now it is the moment of truth… Do they have the courage to man up and tackle this critical issue facing our country’s weakening economy? America is faced with an unemployment rate of 9.8 percent and President Obama is 7.3 million jobs short of where he promised the economy would be by December 2010. It is time for the Democrats to drink a Four Loko, wake up, and come to terms with the fact that they were absolutely shellacked during November’s election and the liberal agenda was rejected.

It is time to finally extend the Bush tax cuts for everyone.

Wonder what you would find if you frisked federal employees’ average compensation and compared them to the private sector?

Answer: A startling difference.

USA Today reports:

At a time when workers’ pay and benefits have stagnated, federal employees’ average compensation has grown to more than double what private sector workers earn, a USA TODAY analysis finds.

Federal workers have been awarded bigger average pay and benefit increases than private employees for nine years in a row. The compensation gap between federal and private workers has doubled in the past decade.

Federal civil servants earned average pay and benefits of $123,049 in 2009 while private workers made $61,051 in total compensation, according to the Bureau of Economic Analysis. The data are the latest available.

The federal compensation advantage has grown from $30,415 in 2000 to $61,998 last year.

After seeing numbers like this, there’s no wonder why President Obama just announced a two-year pay freeze for overpaid federal employees (reminder: the number of federal employees earning over $150,000 doubled under President Obama). According to the White House, the pay freeze will save $2 billion for the remainder of FY 2011.

Every little bit helps, but the White House will have to come up with something better than this minuscule “symbolic gesture” that shows the American public they are getting serious about tackling bloated government and our massive debt.

Let’s be honest, the majority of us (who do not receive a paycheck from the federal government) are sick and tired of seeing the public employee pay scales dominating the private sector. Fortunately, the people over at The Heritage Foundation have a few solutions that would address this issue:

  • Abolish the general schedule and implement performance-based pay.
  • Hire more private contractors.
  • Reduce federal benefits.
  • End dismissal restrictions.

Of course these solutions are not popular with the powerful and greedy organized labor unions. In the end, it will be a fight if we are going to be serious about tackling this problem.

Wonder what you would find if you frisked the Democratic Party’s game plan this summer in order to avoid any controversy before the upcoming election?

Answer: Excuses… Excuses… Excuses…

😆 Props to The Heritage Foundation for putting this video together!

Video Note: The American people deserve the chance to hear from and talk to their elected officials directly. It’s appalling that Members of Congress won’t meet with their constituents. Citizens need to hold Congress accountable. It’s time to tell Congress to show up at home.

Conservative Victory 2010!

Wonder what you would find if you frisked the unions in California?

Answer: They are putting children’s lives at risk so they can demand an expansion of nursing positions in schools.

Nowadays, the question needs to be asked: Who’s really on the side of the children? Hint: Not the unions and never let them tell you any different! The video (posted above) from Reason TV is just another example of how big-labor is crippling our country:

Epilepsy advocates like the Epilepsy Foundation and physicians groups like the California Medical Association have lined up to support the bill. Unions representing teachers, nurses, and other public employees have lined up in opposition, claiming the bill would put children in danger. Their solution: hire more school nurses.

“The unions are not on the side of the kids,” says DeLorenzo who believes unions are more interested in expanding their ranks than protecting epileptic children.

“It’s exactly the opposite,” says Gayle McClean, southern section president of the California School Nurses Organization and a member of the California Teachers Association. “We care deeply for children and we want them to receive the most appropriate care and that means they need a licensed medical person caring for them.”

Sacramento lawmakers sided with unions and have refused to bring the bill up for a vote. The bill will officially expire on August 31.

Remember, the FDA signed off on the use of Diastat and the syringe by non-medical personnel with just a little training. Protecting union jobs rather than saving epileptic children? This is absolutely appalling, but unfortunately it’s not surprising to me at all either. The State of California is overrun with governmental idiocy from the Left and big-labor unions (like the California Teachers Associationstuff their Democratic candidates’ pockets faster than a bank robber inside a vault when it comes to their campaigns.

Oh well… In the end, it’s just a matter of life and death. No biggie! 🙄

Wonder what you would find if you frisked President Obama’s socialized health-care bill that he plans on signing into law today?

Answer: The senior staff members who wrote the bill are exempted from Obama-Care!

Wow! This is absolutely unbelievable… The New Ledger reports:

One such surprise is found on page 158 of the legislation, which appears to create a carveout for senior staff members in the leadership offices and on congressional committees, essentially exempting those senior Democrat staffers who wrote the bill from being forced to purchase health care plans in the same way as other Americans.

Apparently, the Democrat’s socialized health-care is so great of a system that they don’t want to use it. Hmm? It’s interesting how this one works out. Some day I might understand these idiotic politicians, but I highly doubt it.

Let the adventure of finding atrocious details within Obama-Care begin! After all, it has to be signed into law before we can figure out what’s in this bill, right House Speaker Pelosi (D-CA)?

🙄 Absolutely pathetic…

Socialized health-care passes.

Wonder what you would find if you frisked the United States House of Representatives late Sunday night?

Answer: The House Democrats rammed through President Obama’s socialized health-care reform against the will of the American people.

219 to 212. 😥

The Hill reports:

The House made history with the passage of comprehensive national healthcare reform Sunday, giving President Barack Obama a major legislative victory after more than a year of intense debate.

The Senate healthcare bill passed the House a vote of 219-212. Thirty-four Democrats voted against their party, and against the legislation. As expected, the Republican opposition was unanimous.

Less than one hour later, the House approved a package of changes to that legislation that will now be considered by the Senate under budget reconciliation rules that will prevent Republican senators from blocking the bill with a filibuster.

Unfortunately, liberty dies to thunderous applause from the House Democrats. Whatever happened to protecting the United States Constitution?

House Republican Leader John Boehner responded with a memorable final statement:

Conservative victory 2010 and let’s repeal this monstrosity!

Side-Note: This is another great example of why I really dislike liberals… Those darn health-care insurance companies with their outrageous profit margins of a modest 3.4% over the past year! Hmm… That’s ranks 87th out of 215 industries! The most profitable industry over the past year has been beverages, with a 25.9% profit margin. Shhh! Don’t tell the Democrats that though, because they will probably want to takeover that industry in a few weeks.

Wonder what you would find if you frisked the latest news from Obama and the White House?

Answer: The new Obama-Care bill has been released! …And apparently overhauling the health-care system is not enough, because it also takes over the student loan industry.

DANG! Now that is a big bill! 😯

Or you can read it here.

Gateway Pundit did a great job pointing out some of the outrageous ‘goodies’ found deep within this mountain of paper disguised as a deficit-neutral health-care bill:

There are three sections talking about student loans.
Pg 916 line 17
Pg 1,949 line 4

Student aid portion of bill begins on page 2,098.
Pg 2,192 line 1 and continues for many pages.

Page 50/section 152: The bill will provide insurance to all non-U.S. residents, even if they are here illegally.

Page 58 and 59: The government will have real-time access to an individual’s bank account and will have the authority to make electronic fund transfers from those accounts.

Page 65/section 164: The plan will be subsidized (by the government) for all union members, union retirees and for community organizations (such as the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now – ACORN).

So far, the bill sounds like a total disaster waiting to happen, but perhaps there is some light at the end of the tunnel. According to the New York Post:

The top House Republican says the GOP can defeat the Democratic health care bill that may reach the House floor this coming week.

Ohio Rep. John Boehner says Republicans alone can’t stop the legislation. But he says Republicans are “going to do everything we can to make it difficult for them, if not impossible, to pass the bill.”

I really hope he is right!

The sad part about all of this is that a lot more government expansions and nonsense will be discovered within this 2,309 page bill in the upcoming days. Until then, the Democrats really need to take a step back, look at the country they serve, and realize how pissed off America actually is. The newly elected U.S. Senator Scott Brown (R-MA) describes this mess quite easily:

Maybe you remember what President Obama promised in his State of the Union address. He said he was going to finally focus on jobs and the economy for the remainder of this year. I applauded him for that. Well, here it is, it’s almost spring. And what is he out there talking about again? That same 2,700-page, multi-trillion dollar healthcare legislation.

So, an entire year has gone to waste. Millions of Americans have lost their jobs, and many more jobs are in danger. Even now, the president still hasn’t gotten the message.

Somehow, the greater the public opposition to the healthcare bill, the more determined they seem to force it on us anyway. Their attitude shows Washington at its very worst – the presumption that they know best, and they’re going to get their way whether the American people like it or not.

Props to Sen. Brown (R-MA)!

After you are done reading the new monstrous 2,309 page Obama-Care bill, be sure to…

Wonder what you would find if you frisked the latest Rasmussen poll regarding the 2010 election for Michigan’s next Governor?

Answer: Republican candidates are still holding strong.

Michigan Republicans have a very busy year ahead of them! Term-limited Governor Jennifer Granholm is done at the end of the year and multiple Republican candidates have an early lead over the likeliest Democratic candidates.

Check out the latest numbers:

So far, so good…

Rasmussen Reports has the latest:

The most recent Rasmussen Reports Election 2010 telephone survey of likely voters in the state finds GOP hopefuls Mike Bouchard, Mike Cox and Peter Hoekstra earning 40% to 45% of the vote in all but one of the match-ups against each of their potential opponents.

Democrats Virg Bernero, Andy Dillon, Denise Ilitch and Alma Wheeler Smith pick up anywhere from 28% to 36% of the vote in those match-ups.

Hoekstra, a longtime U.S. congressman, runs slightly stronger among the GOP contenders.

Among the Democrats, Dillon, the speaker of the Michigan House of Representatives, runs most competitively. Against Cox, the state attorney general, in fact, Dillon runs virtually even, with 36% of the vote to his GOP foe’s 35%. (See toplines and crosstabs.)

Both parties will pick their candidates in August 3 primaries.

Among the GOP hopefuls, Bouchard. the sheriff of Oakland County, is viewed very favorably by seven percent (7%) of Michigan voters and very unfavorably by six percent (6%). For Cox, very favorables total 14% and very unfavorables 13%. Eighteen percent (18%) have a very favorable opinion of Hoekstra, while 13% view him very unfavorably.

On the Democratic side, Bernero, the mayor of Lansing, is seen very favorably by six percent (6%) and very unfavorably by 11%. Six percent (6%) have a very favorable view of Dillon, while 13% view him very unfavorably.

Very favorables for Ilitch, a Detroit businesswoman and lawyer, total 17%, her very unfavorables 14%. For Wheeler Smith, a member of the Michigan House, very favorables are 12% and very unfavorables 19%.

So far, it is looking good for Republicans and in reality it’s their race to lose. Within the past couple months – after Lieutenant Governor John Cherry dropped out of the race – Democrats have been playing catch-up. Unfortunately for the Democrats, the May 15th deadline to collect 15,000 signatures to have their name on the ballot during the primaries is creeping around the corner.

In my opinion, the Republican candidates need to step their game up and get more enthusiasm out there to the general public. Another GOP hopeful – business entrepreneur Rick Snyder – released a Super Bowl advertisement in order to get his name out there and create some buzz. It will be interesting to see if his name pops up on the next Rasmussen poll.

Good luck Republicans and may the best Conservative win!

Side-Note: Shortly after this poll was conducted, Denise Ilitch officially announced that she will not enter the race, but former state Treasurer Bob Bowman is preparing to file papers to form an exploratory committee for governor.

Wonder what you would find if you frisked $2 billion of the stimulus money meant to go towards wind power?

Answer: 80% of it is going to foreign companies.

You have got to be kidding me! ABC News reports:

Despite all the talk of green jobs, the overwhelming majority of stimulus money spent on wind power has gone to foreign companies, according to a new report by the Investigative Reporting Workshop at the American University’s School of Communication in Washington, D.C.

Nearly $2 billion in money from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act has been spent on wind power, funding the creation of enough new wind farms to power 2.4 million homes over the past year. But the study found that nearly 80 percent of that money has gone to foreign manufacturers of wind turbines.

Click the photograph below to watch ABC News’ report:

Jim Hoft – from Gateway Pundit – points out some interesting numbers:

US workers may be laid off but a Chinese company is helping build a massive wind farm in west Texas. The firm will receive $450 million in Stimulus cash. The project will save or create 300 jobs in Texas and 2,000 manufacturing jobs in China. That sounds like a good use of taxpayer dollars, huh?

In the end, large government is extremely inefficient and it’s baffling to think that people actually want to put their faith in it. 🙄 Honestly, can we consider this $800+ billion stimulus package a complete failure yet? It has done nothing to “stimulate” the economy and what the hell is a “saved” job!? How do you calculate that?
