Wonder what you would find if you frisked the state of Illinois?

Answer: According to Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels, it is just like The Simpsons.

In case you haven’t heard, Illinois lawmakers (dominated by Democrats) approved a 66 percent income-tax increase in a desperate bid to end the state’s crippling budget crisis.

This is where Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels decided to weigh in on the subject. The Daily Caller reports:

Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels isn’t as worried about his own state’s reputation as he is with that of Illinois, according to a WLS Chicago radio interview in which he compared Illinois to “The Simpsons.”

“Oh you guys are nothing if not entertaining over there [in Illinois]. It’s like living next door to ‘The Simpsons’, you know the dysfunctional family down the block?” Daniels said Wednesday. “Watching you guys, I mean I shouldn’t make too light of it, I think this is really a bad situation.”

Daniels was referring to Illinois’ tax income increase, which the Illinois House and Senate passed on Tuesday. Daniels also said Indiana has never had an income tax increase but has instead provided tax cuts to residents. When it comes to job creation, argued the Indiana governor, income tax increases aren’t the solution.

“If you want to bring new jobs to your state the last thing you do is make it more expensive to hire people, and so we’ve been working for six years, we’re now at the top of everybody’s list of a good place to do business, and going in the other direction really is something that we’re not prepared to do, and I hope you guys find a way not to also,” Daniels said.

Absolutely priceless.

Also, New Jersey Governor Chris Christie went after Illinois’ budget failures and showcased his conservative policies (balancing the budget and lowering taxes) this morning on Fox & Friends.

Rep. Phil Hare (D-IL).

Wonder what you would find if you frisked U.S. Rep. Phil hare (D-FL) at one of his town hall meetings?

Answer: He admits that he does not care about the United States Constitution.

Just wonderful… It’s always reassuring to see an elected official admit that he does not care about our country’s Constitution. Glad he took an oath to defend a document that he’s obviously not took the time to read.

Future reminder for Rep. Hare (D-IL): “Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness” comes from the Declaration of Independence… Different document there buddy. This is why Congress has the lowest approval rating it has ever seen and why America does not trust politicians.

Side-Note: Rep. Hare (D-IL) claims he read the 2,000+ page monstrosity THREE times… Yeah, and I’m 6’8″ and about to get drafted first round to the NBA. 😆

Alexi Giannoulias (D)

Wonder what you would find if you frisked the National Republican Senatorial Committee right after they received word that Alexi Giannoulias won the Democratic Primary for the U.S. Senate?

Answer: They immediately released the advertisement posted above.

Yikes! The NRSC definitely did not hold any punches back on this one. The moment they heard the bell, they darted out with lightning speed to attack. The objective of this advertisement is to connect Alexi Giannoulias to former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich, Tony Rezko, and some thugs within the Chicago Mob. Absolutely brilliant. After all, it was the other Democrats during the primary election that opened this can of worms to begin with.

In regards to the better side of politics, Mark Kirk won the GOP Primary for the U.S. Senate. Congratulations! Although Kirk has been known to be a pretty moderate Republican, we hope he will stick to his guns and do what’s best for our country.

Click here to check out the Illinois Primary Election results.

The NRSC has just released this statement:

The Democrats selected Alexi Giannoulias, yet another ethically-challenged candidate who was raised in the tradition of the Chicago political machine. Giannoulias’ failed record of achievement has not qualified Illinois’ first term Treasurer to serve in the U.S. Senate, but his tainted resume hasn’t stopped the ambitious 33-year-old from seeking a promotion in November.

[…]

Giannoulias’ record as the state’s first term Treasurer has not been much brighter. His crowning achievements include hiring a Wall Street bank to manage the state college investment fund, Bright Start, which proceeded to make bad bets and lose money for thousands of Illinois families. After the losses were discovered, the State of Illinois had to settle for the bank’s repaying only half of the total losses.

But that didn’t stop Alexi Giannoulias from buying himself a brand new SUV, courtesy of the state’s beleaguered college investment fund and paid for by taxpayers in Illinois.

And if you think that’s the only poor decision Giannoulias has made, think again. I will bring you more details on this corrupt politician later on this year as the 2010 elections draw nearer.

Just know this: The selection of Giannoulias as the Democratic candidate, just proves that corrupt Chicago-style politics still exists. Voters beware!

Side-Note: Love the ending of the adveritsement… “He would make Tony Soprano Proud.”

Lech Walesa

Wonder what you would find if you frisked the mainstream media in Chicago, Illinois?

Answer: Apparently, it is not worth mentioning that Lech Walesa is in town to endorse a candidate for governor of Illinois.

Lech Walesa is a Nobel Laureate, Presidential Medal of Freedom winner, and the former President of Poland. He was also the leader of the Solidarity movement that led the Poles out of communism. In other words, he is kind of a big deal.

So why is the media ignoring his arrival? Simple: He arrived in Chicago to endorse Republican candidate Adam Andrzejewski for governor. Not to mention, he attended a Tea Party which is definitely a “no-no” if you want to be the good side of the liberal media.

Props to Founding Bloggers for this one. We must remain focused on an all-out conservative victory in 2010.

Wonder what you would find if you frisked former Illinois governor Rod Blagojevich?

Answer: Apparently he believes that he’s blacker than President Obama or something…

Interesting choice of words Blago:

The former Illinois governor tells Esquire: “It’s such a cynical business, and most of the people in the business are full of s— and phonies, but I was real, man — and am real. This guy, he was catapulted in on hope and change, what we hope the guy is. What the f—? Everything he’s saying’s on the teleprompter. I’m blacker than Barack Obama. I shined shoes. I grew up in a five-room apartment. My father had a little laundromat in a black community not far from where we lived. I saw it all growing up.”

Hmm… So what do we do about that situation? I debated whether or not I should even write a blog post about this, because I kind of just wanted to sit back and let nature take its course which would involve a nice little liberal cat fight. 😆 Popcorn anyone?

Side-Note: Since when was it a badge of honor to try to act like a victim minority?

AcornFunding

Wonder what you would find if you frisked ACORN’s future budget?

Answer: Hopefully you will find it A LOT smaller!

FOX News supplies the details:

The Senate voted Monday to block the Housing and Urban Development Department from giving grants to ACORN, a community organization under fire in several voter-registration fraud cases.

The 83-7 vote would deny housing and community grant funding to ACORN, which stands for the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now.

The action came as the group is suffering from bad publicity after a duo of conservative activists posing as a prostitute and her pimp released hidden-camera videos in which ACORN employees in Baltimore gave advice on house-buying and how to account on tax forms for the woman’s income. Two other videos, aired on the FOX News Channel, depict similar situations in ACORN offices in Brooklyn and Washington, D.C.

The Senate’s move would mean that ACORN would not be able to win HUD grants for programs such as counseling low-income people on how to get mortgages and for fair housing education and outreach.

Senator Mike Johanns (R-NE) introduced the amendment designed to cut off all federal funding to ACORN. Not only did Republicans come through, but it was a large bipartisan showing! Good job Dems, but it’s not over until its over! The hard part will be to see if the amendment can survive a conference committee (dun, dun, dun).

The seven Democrats who opposed the amendment are:

  • Dick Durbin (D-IL)
  • Roland Burris (D-IL)
  • Robert Casey (D-PA)
  • Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY)
  • Patrick Leahy (D-VT)
  • Bernie Sanders (I-VT)
  • Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI)

Hmm… what does this tell us about Vermont and Illinois?

Props: James O’Keefe, Hannah Giles, and BigGovernment.com for the going undercover. Can’t wait to see the new video today. (Mu-haha!)
