Wonder what you would find if you frisked the 2010 United States Census data that was released yesterday?

Answer: Good news for red states and bad news for blue states.

The Washington Times reports:

The conservative “red” states should see their political clout enhanced as a result of the Census Bureau’s announcement Tuesday that the nation’s population grew 9.7 percent over the past decade to nearly 309 million, with the fastest growth centered in states that went Republican in the 2008 presidential election.

[…]

As a result of the 2010 numbers, eight states will gain House seats in the 2012 elections, led by Texas’ four seats and Florida, which gained two. Others gaining a single House seat were Arizona, Georgia, Nevada, South Carolina, Utah and Washington.

New York and Ohio were the big losers, both shedding two House seats, while Illinois, Iowa, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, New Jersey and Pennsylvania will lose one seat.

Although the growing Hispanic-immigrant population is mainly responsible for Texas and Florida’s huge House seat pickups, the overall Census data still means a lot politically:

Most states gaining seats went for Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) in the 2008 presidential election, while almost all states that lost seats were won by President Obama — many of them in the Rust Belt.

The westward movement of the U.S. population means six districts in states that went for Obama will shift to states that went for McCain — a small but significant shift that could help a GOP presidential candidate in 2012, provided they can hold those states for the party.

Most of the other new seats will be in swing states that went for Obama, which could also be won by Republicans in 2012.

It also doesn’t hurt the Republican Party, because our 2010 gains put us in control of the redistricting process and will help us with drawing new district lines. Although this is all good news, it still does not make the 2012 general election any easier. Not only do we have to worry about effectively relaying our message to the growing Hispanic-immigrant demographic, we have to stay extremely focused on the issues that favor Republicans. Since President Obama does not have a popular or effective record to run on, the Democrats will more than likely toss around the race-card like it’s going out of style.

Here’s another interesting observation in regards to the new 2010 Census data:

First, the great engine of growth in America is not the Northeast Megalopolis, which was growing faster than average in the mid-20th century, or California, which grew lustily in the succeeding half-century. It is Texas.

This leads to a second point, which is that growth tends to be stronger where taxes are lower. Seven of the nine states that do not levy an income tax grew faster than the national average. The other two, South Dakota and New Hampshire, had the fastest growth in their regions, the Midwest and New England.

Altogether, 35 percent of the nation’s total population growth occurred in these nine non-taxing states, which accounted for just 19 percent of total population at the beginning of the decade.

Perhaps the Democrats will look to this as a lesson in understanding how high taxation affects states, citizens, and economies… Needless to say, I am not holding my breath.

Wonder what you would find if you frisked yesterday’s Major League Baseball game between the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Washington Nationals?

Answer: A couple of liberal, hippie protesters briefly interrupting the game.

Idiots, but hey! At least they tried, right?

The Washington Times report:

Sunday’s game between the Arizona Diamondbacks and Washington Nationals was briefly interrupted by protesters urging commissioner Bud Selig to move the 2011 All-Star Game from Phoenix because of Arizona’s new immigration legislation.

A man emerged from the left-field stands in the fifth inning and ran into short right field after Washington pitcher Stephen Strasburg grounded to short for the first out. As security guards were about to subdue the man, a woman ran onto the field from the right-field seats.

The two ran around the field, meeting in deep right-center, before they were caught by security. As they were being escorted from the field, a man and a woman holding a banner protesting the All-Star Game in Arizona ran into right field.

Before they could display the banner, a security guard ripped it from their hands, tackling one of them. As they were taken into custody, a bedsheet banner reading “Bud Selig Move All Star Game No SB 1070” was unfurled from the facade over the batter’s eye in center field.

While the banner-toting protesters were taken off the field, security removed the sign in center field. The game was delayed about two minutes.

FAIL.

I realize they were protesting this baseball game because of the “symbolism” of the two teams that were playing, but really? Apparently they weren’t trying to get a whole lot of attention, because they are two of the worst teams in baseball!

Umm... Really!?

Wonder what you would find if you frisked Democrat County Supervisor Peggy West at a board hearing in Milwaukee, WI about whether to boycott Phoenix, AZ because of the state’s new immigration law?

Answer: Apparently she believes that Arizona is “a ways removed from the border.”

😆 Wow! Can this lady actually be serious!? Ladies and gentlemen… I give you the intellectual firepower of the modern day Democrat Party!

A round of applause goes here…

Yeah, yeah, yeah… Chill out liberals, because I was only kidding. A majority of you, I’m sure (and I hope), advanced past 1st grade geography.

On a serious note though, Allahpundit – from Hot Air – has some serious questions he would probably like to ask this young lady:

Does this person really think that having a token force of National Guardsmen at the border somehow solves Arizona’s problem, particularly when they’re not authorized to stop illegals? And what’s the business near the end about Jan Brewer having a direct pipeline to Obama? When she first asked to meet with him, he turned her down; then, when he did meet with her, he made a pledge of new resources that he evidently has no intention of keeping. Exit question: Did West read anything about this issue before pushing for a boycott?

To answer Allahpundit’s question: No.

My exit question: Can she even read?… Or at least read a dang map?

Wonder what you would find if you frisked the city of Los Angeles’ power supply if they decide to boycott Arizona?

Answer: Some of it might go missing.

NBC Los Angeles reports:

An Arizona utility commissioner said he’s willing to pull the plug on Los Angeles if the city goes through with a boycott of his state.

In a letter to the city of LA, a member of Arizona’s power commission said he would ask Arizona utility companies to cut off the power supply to Los Angeles. LA gets about 25 percent of its power from Arizona.

[…]

The commissioner’s power grid play is in response to the city’s approval of a resolution directing city staff to consider which contracts with Arizona can be terminated.

Los Angeles decided to push and Arizona pushed back harder. If I were Arizona, I would tell Los Angeles to bring it on!

Wonder what you would find if you frisked United States Attorney General Eric Holder’s opinion regarding Arizona’s new immigration law?

Answer: Who cares what it is, because he never read the law!

If you have not been paying attention to the whole ‘Eric Holder vs. Arizona’s new immigration law saga’, click here to watch a video and catch up.

🙄 Unbelievable… How can a high ranking government official – such as Eric Holder – make multiple television appearances condemning a law that he/she has not even read? Obviously, this just seems to be a reoccurring pattern with this current administration.

Via The Corner. Andy McCarthy makes an excellent point:

Holder ‘profiles’ Arizona.

Isn’t that really what the Attorney General is doing?

He hasn’t read the Arizona immigration law, even though reading the law is the basic duty of any lawyer (let alone the U.S. Attorney General) who is called on to assess a legal situation.

Thus, he hasn’t got reasonable suspicion that Arizonans are violating the Constitution, even though reasonable suspicion is the basic investigative standard we expect law-enforcement to satisfy before officials harass Americans with stepped up scrutiny.

And we know he has a bias because he told us, unabashedly, that he thinks Americans are “cowards” on matters of race.

Think about it this way:  If a police officer, without taking elementary investigative steps to inform himself about the facts of a situation, and thus without reasonable suspicion, simply assumed a person must be guilty of wrongdoing based on the police officer’s avowed prejudice, what would Eric Holder call it?

I love liberal hypocrisy…

Wonder what you would find if you frisked the Associated Press yesterday?

Answer: An interesting headline!

Hmm… The AP makes this headline seem so awful. Perhaps the new immigration bill will be a slight success?

The question here is: What will be the next border state to pass a new law similar to Arizona’s? After all, I’m sure  those illegal immigrants “running away” from Arizona are just fleeing into other neighboring states.

Wonder what you would find if you frisked Arizona Governor Jan Brewer’s job approval after signing an immigration law that has sparked a national debate?

Answer: Her popularity increased… A lot!

Who would have every thought? Apparently President Obama, Al Sharpton, and the liberal mainstream media cannot stop this movement as much as they decide to rant on about it. Unfortunately for them, 70% of Arizona voters agree with new immigration legislation. Therefore, Gov. Brewer’s poll numbers have soared dramatically.

Rasmussen Report has the latest:

Last week, Arizona Governor Jan Brewer signed an immigration law that launched a national debate. It has also at least temporarily helped her own chances of remaining Arizona’s governor.

A new Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of likely voters in the state shows that 56% now approve of the way Brewer is performing her role as governor. Two weeks ago, just 40% offered their approval.

The new figure includes 22% who Strongly Approve of the governor’s performance. That’s up from five percent (5%) before Brewer signed the law that authorizes local police to stop and verify the immigration status of anyone they suspect of being an illegal immigrant.

The bounce in the polls is also evident in new numbers on the November election. If Brewer is the Republican nominee, she would get 48% of the vote while her likely Democratic opponent, State Attorney General Terry Goddard, would attract 40%. Two weeks ago, it was Brewer 44% and Goddard 40%. Goddard is an outspoken opponent of the new law.

Continue to pout and demonize the opposition Democrats and liberal mainstream media.  It doesn’t matter how many times you try to compare this immigration law to “Nazi Germany”, because the argument simply doesn’t hold any water. Hey… Couldn’t you make the same argument about Obama-Care and its federal mandate? The Obama Administration and IRS will eventually force every single American to provide proof that they have health insurance. What’s the difference? Well besides the fact that no where in the Constitution does it say we HAVE to purchase a product/service to be an American citizen, but it’s the job of the federal government to protect our borders. Let’s just ignore all that… Right liberals?
